This is great news about internet, that was so interesting and new, Finland 1th July Thursday became the first country in the world to make internet access a legal right for all its citizens.Every Finn will now have the right to access to a 1Mbps (megabit per second) broadband connection as the government has vowed to provide the service across the country by 2015, BBC reported.According to the new law, from July 1 all telecommunications companies will be obliged to provide all residents with broadband lines that can run at a minimum 1Mbps speed.
“We considered the role of the internet in Finns everyday life. Internet services are no longer just for entertainment,” Finland’s Communication Minister Suvi Linden told the BBC.”Finland has worked hard to develop an information society and a couple of years ago we realised not everyone had access,” she said It is believed that up to 96 percent of the population are already online and that only about 4,000 homes still need connecting to comply with the law.In Britain internet penetration stands at 73 percent. The British government has agreed to provide everyone with a minimum 2Mbps broadband connection by 2012 but it is a commitment rather than a legally binding ruling.Making broadband a legal right could have implications for countries that plan tough action on illegal file-sharing.Both Britain and France have said they may cut off or limit the internet connections of people who persistently download music or films for free. this news will be effected on many internet law’s all around the world and changes their lives. i wish some day we will have this right in our country iran too.

This news is about copy right law for tow famous websites. A US federal judge has dismissed a $US1 billion ($1.15 billion) lawsuit by Viacom against YouTube, about 3 years ago, Via com had argued that YouTube knew people were posting copies of its movies and TV shows on the YouTube website, encouraged that conduct and profited from it. he case, filed in March 2007, pitted Hollywood studios against a range of technology companies. Last month Walt Disney, NBC Universal and Warner Bros filed a brief that backed Viacom. A few weeks later eBay, Facebook, IAC/InterActiveCorp and Yahoo! filed their own brief supporting Google, which bought YouTube in 2006 for $US1.8 billion.
In its suit, Viacom alleged YouTube had a responsibility to immediately remove all pirated content from its site. YouTube said its only duty was to remove specific videos identified by copyright holders. and finally the you tube won the court. and it was like some cases that we had in our class, about copy right acts and laws.

it is about Amazon.com that said on Wednesday it signed an agreement to acquire online store Woot.com, which sells discounted products and operates an online community, for an undisclosed sum.
Amazon, the largest Web retailer in the world, said the acquisition would sustain the long-term growth of Woot, which says on its website that it “focuses on selling cool stuff cheap.”
The Carrollton, Texas-based company with an irreverent edge offers a new item every day for sale until it is sold out and a new item takes its place.”Woot to be acquired by Amazon, then left to amuse ourselves,” read the brief statement by Woot on its website. “Holy crap! Woot has signed an agreement with Amazon — yes, the Amazon — to become an independent subsidiary of the ecommerce colossus. and it was good idea for amazon, and for its customers.

this news is about online casino and gambling, a Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia contractor has filed a High Court claim against a private limited company and a newspaper, alleging that they induced him to gamble.Chuah Yan Keng (43) claims that the newspaper published an advertisement last year on services provided by another defendant company and/or three unidentified online gambling websites, reports The Star newspaper. The advertisement was published at the request of the company, which is the wholesale agent for the websites. The plaintiff claims he paid RM150,000 into the company’s nominated bank account and obtained an access code. He later placed bets through the online gambling websites, and was fortunate enough to win RM261,286.35, but the company refused to pay him He subsequently discovered that the company was not licensed to offer online gambling, a serious offence in a country with such strong anti-gambling measures.
The action is based on idea that the defendants have a statutory duty under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 not to make a false or misleading representation, and that the publisher of the newspaper failed to make all reasonable inquiries to ascertain if the company was also providing illegal online gambling services. The plaintiff is seeking RM150,000 in special damages, RM261,286.35 in aggravated and or exemplary damages, costs, interest and further relief deemed fit by the court. we should be so careful about this kind of sites and risks of online gambling, and aware our friends to know about this kind of
